Snohomish County is seeking applicants with a deep interest and appreciation in the cultural and arts to serve as alternate commissioners for the Snohomish County Arts Commission. County residents who have relevant experience or skills are encouraged to apply.
Currently there are four alternate position openings for citizens of District 1, 2, 5 and one “At Large” position.

Every dollar donated to this new fund for public art will be matched by Snohomish County Percent for the Arts. The Dedicated Arts Fund was set up to receive donations. So click the link below to help the arts grow in Snohomish County.

Joan Penney joins the college as it expands class offerings in the humanities, particularly in the theatre and music departments. A new on-campus theater is part of this expansion.
Penney serves on the Washington State Arts Commission and most recently directed the Bellingham Festival of Music. She was executive director for the McIntyre Hall Performing Arts and Conference Center, dean of academics, music instructor and choral director at Skagit Valley College for 18 years.
Penney has two degrees in music, a master’s in vocal performance from Western Washington University, 1984, and a bachelor’s from Seattle University, 1981.

Artworks representing a variety of styles from six Puget Sound region artists is on display as part of a temporary sculpture exhibition on the Snohomish County Plaza at 3000 Rockefeller in downtown Everett.
