Library Exhibit Features Ellen MiffittApril 3 to April 29—The Edmonds Arts Commission presents an exhibit at the Edmonds Library of Collage by Ellen Miffitt. —The Edmonds Arts Commission presents a display of two and three-dimensional artwork by Meadowdale High School art students in the Young Artists Display Case at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St. The Young Artists Display Case, located next to the elevator, is available for viewing during building hours, Mon - Fri 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, until mid June, 2007.

The 11 artists are students in Amanda Wood’s Art classes and Jull VanBerkom’s photography class. Included in the exhibit is work by Aron Chaudiere, Reilly Duvall, Enjoli Walsh, Marissa Brent-Tookey, Maggie Beeson, Stephan Hagstrom, Grace Guenther, Megan Boone, Kaitlin Denham, Alyssa Fairbanks, Andrea Hixenbaugh.

Reg Akright: Artist of the Year 2008March 13 through April 17 —The Arts Council of Snohomish County is proud to present Reg Akright: Artist of the Year 2008. This accomplished sculptor was chosen by the artistic community for his outstanding contributions to the Arts Council, dedication to his profession, and vigilant advocacy for the arts.

But Everett unique site exciting with its beauty and history provides artists with endless material for landscape painting too. New paintings in this exhibit show Snohomish, Everett, and other Sno county towns, Seattle, and also London and Dublin streets, beautiful countryside of Great Britain. Sunlit scenery in Ron's paintings refutes the stereotype of England and Washington state being foggy and gray.

Chinese Art by Vivian ChaoMarch 21 through April 24Vivian’s paintings blend both Western and Eastern, traditional and contemporary styles, and often combine both real and imaginary elements. She says, "My landscape reveals an idealized land above the world. It intends to lift up human hearts to a higher stage". In her art, one can find what Chinese artists call the three perfections: painting, poetry, and calligraphy.
