Arts Council selects architects for Visual Art Education Center.

ARC Architects from Seattle will design the space for the Visual Art Education Center. The Center will be located in the Artspace building on Hoyt Avenue in downtown Everett.

Sonja Blomdahl blown glass chandeliers installed in Edmonds Center for the Arts—Blomdahl is known for layering brilliant colors of transparent and opaque glass to create an optical glow within each piece. The chandeliers are a gift from the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation and the Edmonds Arts Festival. See the new chandeliers and the Chihuly pieces in the stairwells.

Pam Beyette Paths of Light chosen for Edmonds SR99 International District Art Enhancements—The lanterns will establish a strong visual identity from 228th Street to 223rd Street on Highway 99. Businesses in the area are primarily Asian but include a variety of other ethnic backgrounds. The project is funded through a $316,000 Federal Highway Enhancements Grant (TEA-21). A total of $100,000 is available for construction of the lanterns.

Evergreen Arboretum Garden Sculptures—Several large sculptures can be found among the plantings in this "secret garden" in Everett. Shown above are Big Red by Arnie Garborg and Clarity by Merillee Moore. Open daily from dawn to 10 pm daily and located on the West side of Legion Park in Everett at 145 Alvorsen Boulevard.


Simple Song by Kevin Pettelle—Bronze sculpture of beloved dancer and dance instructor Mike Jordan perfoming his soft shoe routine was recently unveiled in Everett. The sculpture is installed outside the Everett Performing Arts Center at 2710 Wetmore Avenue.

Snohomish County Arts Commission
Northwest Sculpturesthrough December—Artworks representing a variety of styles from six Puget Sound region artists are on public display as part of a temporary sculpture exhibition on the Snohomish County Plaza, 3000 Rockefeller, Everett, through December 2007. The free exhibit is open to the public.
